The Voice – Isaiah 40:3

THE VOICE

ISAIAH 40:3

Some 700 years before Christ comes on to the scene, the prophet Isaiah promises there will someone coming to announce the arrival of Messiah. Isaiah says he will be “a voice crying in the wilderness, prepare the way of the Lord”. It is John the Baptist who does that very thing. “One is coming who is greater than I, whose sandals I am not worthy to untie.” And as John sees Jesus from afar off he declares with great precision, “Behold the Lamb of God, who takes away the sin of the world!”
